Custom Swaying Sister Rings With Diamond & Alexandrite
These custom Swaying Sisters Rings were created for two sisters who wanted to celebrate their connection through matching rings made just for them. Each ring features a pair of April and June birthstones, Diamond and Alexandrite, set into hand sculpted sterling silver poppies from my Life in Bloom collection.
One of my favorite parts of custom work is seeing how people make a design their own. We explored several variations for these rings, including adding 18k gold granules to the bands, but ultimately decided on an all silver design so the stones could truly shine. The bright silver allows the sparkle of the diamonds and the shifting tones of the alexandrite to stand out while keeping the rings delicate, wearable, and timeless.
The original Swaying Sisters Ring was inspired by the movement of poppy fields swaying in the breeze of the South of France. Two blooming poppies sit side by side with flowing silver swirls and fine silver granules woven through the band, reminiscent of budding flowers dancing through the field. For these custom rings, that symbolism took on an even deeper meaning. Two sisters growing alongside one another while still carrying their own individuality.
The Life in Bloom collection itself draws inspiration from the poppy’s symbolism and my own journey toward living fully. I first fell in love with poppies while traveling through the South of France. Seeing endless fields coated in vivid red flowers felt completely breathtaking and transformative. Since then, I’ve come to appreciate the poppy not only as a symbol of remembrance, but also as a reminder to embrace life deeply and wholeheartedly.
For me, the poppy holds the dual meaning of a memento mori and a memento vivere. A reminder that life is fragile, yes, but also incredibly worth living.
These custom Swaying Sisters Rings became a beautiful extension of that story. A celebration of memory, connection, individuality, and sisterhood captured in silver and gemstones.
