Shopping Local for the Holidays in Savannah: Your 2025 Guide
If you’re spending the holidays in Savannah, you’re in luck! This city makes shopping small incredibly easy. With locally owned boutiques, artist studios, and handmade markets on nearly every corner, Savannah is the perfect place to find meaningful, unique gifts. Here’s my guide to the best places to shop local in Savannah this holiday season.
Start on Broughton Street
Savannah Jewelry Gallery
For stunning local jewelry, Savannah Jewelry Gallery is truly unmatched. They offer permanent jewelry, custom designs, and best of all — they carry Abigail Leaventon Jewelry in-store! If you're looking for locally made fine jewelry, this is your first stop.
Davenport House Museum Shop
For handmade jewelry, charming home goods, cookbooks, and Savannah-inspired gifts, the Davenport House Museum Shop has you covered. They also carry Abigail Leaventon Jewelry! After shopping, stay for a house tour — you’ll be glad you did.
While you’re on Broughton, pick up your holiday outfit at Morgan Rae or Harper. When the sun sets, take a moment to enjoy the lights on the tree and strung across the street. Savannah knows how to bring on the holiday spirit.
Wandering Through Forsyth Park & the Historic Squares
shopSCAD
Just steps from the park, shopSCAD offers one of the best selections of handmade jewelry, original art, ceramics, and gifts in Savannah. Every item comes from a SCAD alumnus, faculty member, or staff member, and I am grateful to be included among their alumni artists.
Forsyth Farmers’ Market
If you’re walking through Forsyth on a Saturday morning, don’t miss the weekly Forsyth Farmers’ Market. You’ll find fresh pastries, seasonal produce, and tons of local artists selling their work. A little chilly weather is worth it for the handmade paintings, prints, and gifts you’ll discover.
Lalka Beauty
Just off the park, Lalka Beauty is the perfect stop for the makeup lover in your life. They stock gifts from local makers, and their staff is wonderful at answering cosmetic questions and helping you find the right products. I've even taken a makeup lesson here, and I cannot recommend it enough!
Next Stop: River Street
Savannah Holiday Market
The annual holiday market on River Street is one of my favorite places to shop each year. Artists fill European-style outdoor booths with handmade goods, art, and gifts. You’ll meet so many kind small-business owners and find truly unique presents.
Gallery 209
If you love art, you’ll want to visit Gallery 209, a co-op celebrating 50 years in Savannah. It showcases the work of 32 local artists and features everything from paintings and sculptures to jewelry and pottery. They must be doing everything right to thrive for half a century, and it shows.
Finish in the Starland District
One for the Road & Starland Strange
Both shops highlight local makers and Savannah artists, offering an eclectic mix of clothing, accessories, gifts, and art. If you’re looking for something one-of-a-kind, this is the place.
LiteFoot Company
For the environmentally conscious people on your list, stop at LiteFoot. They carry sustainable goods, low-waste products, and eco-friendly home and personal care items. Me? I buy all my soap and home cleaning care here, so you can say I'm a fan. I also bought my gift wrap there last year, and it's still lasting me! I'd say, a gift card for your local friends is the perfect gift to keep us shopping local all year round.
